This article will demonstrate how to splice in a stainless steel (hereafter "SS") Abbott Racing Motorsport 3" cat-back exhaust onto an existing 3" SS downpipe (hereafter "DP"), in this case an MP Performance DP. Materials required: A 1' section of 3" SS pipe, Vibrant SS V-band clamp, a large pipe cutter or steel saw, and a TIG welder with T-308 or 309 wire filler.

The SMBC uses the same boost controller as the Manual Boost Controller (MBC) but is made without a bleed port to allow it to be installed in series between the turbo and the boost pressure control unit. Increase boost spool up time in your Saab!

A manual boost controller allows for higher than stock boost levels, more power and a faster boost response. This is the best modification for your Saab NG900/9-3 for the money...even on standard Saabs it will raise your boost still within permitted levels for the engine (up to 15.5 psi).
