This is not really a performance modification, if you think HP when you think of the term. But it is a modification designed to keep the performance of the P/S pump and rack in excellent operating condition, so here is where I am putting the topic. The filter is a Magnefine in-line transmission filter suitable for power steering systems. It contains a conventional filter element and a magnet to trap ferrous particles if any are present. (Frankly, I do not know if the pump gears are aluminum or ferric). The filter is available through NAPA for about $20.00. There is a write up in the Articles section, this is mainly to post some pics of the modification:
This is head-on view. You can see my new spring-loaded constant torque clamps on the delivery pipe to throttle body transition casting coupler, too.
